If you are like me, then you love to race at breakneck speeds around corners bashing your friend's or AI's cars in the process, or like my cousin, spend 3 and a half hours tuning a car in the pit-stop of a race track just to shove off a few milliseconds of your friends time on the leaderboards.
Problem is, you dont have infinite wads of cash to spend on nVidia's latest graphics cards or even the latest games to play on $1000 toys. Well, you've come to the right place, I'm going to be giving you my trusted list of 5 super awesome racing games for your ancient hardware.
5. TrackMania Turbo - PC
This game is a very fast paced, fun and energetic racer that emphasizes crazy highlight worthy stunts and audacity.

4. Dirt Rally 2 (Colin McRae)
This is an awesome game, especially if you love offroading and drifting round every corner. It is also very adjustable, with settings that would make the game suit the most hard core rally sim gamers all the way up into the broader space of casual gamers that want to test out Ken Block's new maxed out rides without all the bone crushing g-forces and dust flying around.

3. Need For Speed:Hot Pursuit 2010
There are very few games that set new standards as elegantly as this game. It heralded so many features in this game that nowadays gaming can't be regarded as complete without them. Such as seamless online gameplay with -EasyDrive and High Definition street racing, although this game didn't feature a ton of customization options, you would be better of checking it out than not. Trust me.

1. Need For Speed (Not again)
Hehe, it seems need for speed games were the shii right back when PCs were still cruisin' with 2 gigs of ram.
Well, this is certainly your best choice if you are looking for awesome speed hunting on four wheels (on a crappy PC) and it's on steroids.
Need for Speed MOST WANTED 2012 is the closest EA has gone to bringing actual racing in a very long while. While this game has it's drawbacks such as lack of reasonable customization options. But if you are content with racing a 1200 horsepower Bugatti trying to get the most AIR out of a billboard jump or trying to evade cops with the super nimble Ariel Atom V6, you've come to the right place.
