The stereotype about gamers is that they (we) have infinite wads of cash, being able to buy the latest NVidia graphics cards and all the latest setups and Virtual Reality headsets. But hey, I know a good number of us just want to have a “good” time in our rusty old PCs playing the “best” games of the previous decade. But even those games are still giving our “graphics cards” a hard time.
So that is why at Nigerian Gamer we have decided to give all our fans who have taken their time to read this post some tested and proven tips that can make your PCs less of a handful.
ALPHA TIP CHANGE THE PRIORITY OF THE SOFTWARE IN QUESTION
You know how every other program on your PC slows down when you are running an antivirus scan. Yeah, that doesn’t happen because it is more “important” or something. But it is because on installation the program had been set to high priority.
By now y’all be like “how the hell am I going to do it”, well it is quite easy.
WARNING!! Do not, I mean Do not change the priority of a software if it has virus or any suspicious behavior, that will be the end of your files and quite possibly your Operating System.
So let’s get on with it. Firstly, open the task manager with CTRL + SHIFT + ESC

(As you can see, the game I’m trying to optimize is NFS on my poor CPU)
Then Right Click on the app, click on “Go to details” , in the details page Right Click on the app again, then click on the “Change Priority” option, thereafter click on the “Real-time” or “High” option.
Notice that this hack can also be used to reduce the priority of stubborn apps stealing the juice out of your system. But do a quick test run and see the stability of your computer before going all in.
BETA TIP PUT TO A HALT THOSE CPU SUCKING APPS WORKING BACKSTAGE
PCs, especially those with later versions of windows, have lots and lots of apps running in the background in order to give you a “smoother” experience. Well this is not always the case as games and other processing intensive apps/ software suffer.
Gladly, there is a solution to this and it is also quite easy. The first thing to do is to open the task manager as described above (For those too lazy to check, CTRL + SHIFT + ESC) then manually check for the apps having the highest CPU usage percentage and Right Click on them, then click “End Task”.

But do not stop any system task for any reason as these would cause serious stability issues.
CHARLIE TIP LITTLE THINGS COUNT THE MOST
There are a lot of things seemingly inconsequential, that when put together, that could cause some awesome changes to your gaming experience or usage in general. There are quite a lot and I’ll try to bring to the table as many as possible.
Well, this was a nice post for me, well if you also felt the same for yourself, don't forget to smash that like, share or subscribe button below. Thanks see y’all next time.
